In a great blending of cultures, pastor Adrian Ewing and the Faith
Tabernacle Church on Raven Street in the Mt. Hope area of southeast San
Diego, are reaching out to the growing Hispanic community around them.
Traditionally an almost all African-American church, Faith Tabernacle
is about to under go an EXTREME MAKEOVER ダ" not just physically, but
spiritually and culturally as well.
Pastor Estean Lenyoun, who headed up last yearダTs EXTREME Makeover at
St. StephenダTs Church of God in Christ in San DiegoダTs inner city, calls
this ダoYear two of transforming and beautifying the urban sanctuary!ダ_
This yearダTs Extreme Makeover will involve a team of construction
workers, painters, landscapers and anyone who wants to roll up their
sleeves and work hard. The churchダTs barred windows will be replaced
with more attractive see through glass blocks; theyダTll be constructing
a new entry way, adding new front doors new landscaping, sign, and
other features that will make the church more inviting to the
neighborhood.
The makeover takes place Friday and Saturday, December 2-3 and will be followed by a huge
celebration with Steps of Praise and a neighborhood barbecue on Sunday, December 4th.
