Maranatha Christian Schools started as a Kindergarten and two Preschool classes at the old Black Mountain Church campus in 1991.  With each passing year, classes were added as the student population grew from 30 to over 375 in a 14 year period frought with challenges, revelations, growing pains and clarifying the vision.

We are excited to expand and provide more opportunity for a Christ-centered education that is constantly striving to not only match, but exceed the educational standards that have become expected with a public education. We ask you to remember Maranatha Christian Schools in your prayers.

Maranatha Drive during afternoon pick-up

"Beautiful for situation", comes to mind when one sees the lay of the land surrounding MCS's new campus. Mount Israel provides the dramatic backdrop, and the potential for growth on campus and visibility within the burgeoning community are seemingly limitless.

The spacious central quad between the first-phase classroom buildings and gymnasium/chapel provide a meeting area for student drop-off and pick-up that is within the gated campus.

The relaxed serenity of the campuses rural look and feel, is a welcome oasis in a world that is too rushed and jammed with mixed and sometimes conflicting messages. The environment at MCS is conducive to meditative reflection and the classic style and beauty of the old world architecture, gives one the comforting impression of permanence and stability.

The enduring charm and functionality of this beautiful facility, is an ever-present reminder that the Lord was in charge of this campus' development. We continue to ask our church family at Maranatha to lift Maranatha Christian Schools up in prayer. That Christian education will always remain available as a desireable and affordable option.
