Women to Women
Discipleship Groups

Do you sense God calling you:

·        To be challenged to understand what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ?

·        Go deeper in your walk with the Lord and in your love for Him?

·        Have support in life’s struggles while being held accountable in habits you want to change?

If so, choose from one of the many discipleship groups currently being formed. You will be mentored weekly in a small-group setting by another woman who will stand alongside you as together we “…deny ungodliness and worldly desires and live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.” Titus 2:11-13

Groups Start Week of September 22, 2008
Signups begin Sunday August 31st-September 14th**
Call Michelle Kvandal at 858-676-0966 or email at michellekvandal@aol.com for information

(**In an effort for the discipleship interaction to be most effective, groups are limited to no more than 5 women. Sign-ups will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.)

Woman to Woman Discipleship Groups

12 – 16 Week Groups
(Note: The 12-16 Week Groups are designed for women who desire to grow deeper in their walk with the Lord, to take a step of faith and join a small, intimate group in order to experience growth, fellowship and be encouraged to be stretched in the disciplines of our day-to-day walk with God.)

“ Transforming Grace – Living Confidently In God’s Unfailing Love”  by Jerry Bridges*
You know you were saved by grace, not by works, but do you also understand that you are made holy by grace?  Funny how the exceeding riches of God's grace seem to run out the moment we're saved. From then on, we tend to base our relationship with God on our performance rather than on His grace. In the process, we forgo the abundant freedoms that come from not having to measure up. This 12-week study will open your eyes to living under the reign of grace.
Mondays, 7:00-9:00 pm in Escondido

“The Practice of Godliness” by Jerry Bridges*
God assures us He has given us everything for life and godliness. But how do we put on that godliness? We will examine what it means to grow in Christian character and learn to establish the foundation upon which that character is built. In this 12-week study, we will also explore four general themes of godliness, and then consider the important character traits that cover the totality of the Christian life.
Mondays, 7:00-9:00 pm in Rancho Bernardo

"The Fire of Delayed Answers" by Bob Sorge*
Sometimes God delays the answers to our prayers in order to produce a greater maturity and fruitfulness in us.  Christ calls us to the cross because we'll never become like Him apart from pain.  This study is for anyone going through a trial or experiencing the fire of unanswered prayers.  The focus of this 16-week study is to explore the reasons why God sometimes delays His answers, and look at some of the fiery trials experienced by Joseph in Genesis, Chapters 37 through 50 on his path to maturity and a higher calling.
Thursdays, 7:00-9:00 pm in Rancho Bernardo

9 Month Groups
(The 9-Month Groups are designed for women who can make a longer commitment of nine months and have a deeper understanding of discipleship as they have either been in a group before or have a great passion for this ministry.)

Spiritual Discipleshipby J. Oswald Sanders*
True discipleship is more than intellectual assent to a belief in Christ—it involves the whole person and lifestyle. Disciples are charged with the task of training themselves to be godly, because it is their responsibility to remain spiritually fit. This 9-month journey will be designed to help you understand the lifestyle Jesus is calling us to live as His disciples and will challenge you to be transformed to His image, step by step.
Wednesdays, 10:00 am–12:00 noon in Scripps Ranch

Study of James
If you would like a longer, deeper commitment, join this study of the book of James. We will bring our own insights and check out the best-of-the-best commentaries as we wrestle with making the words of James real in our lives. Participants will be challenged to lead after this group. Expect honesty, accountability, memorization, and service/ministry opportunities!
Wednesdays, 1:00 -3:00 pm in Rancho Bernardo

“The Way of Agape” by Chuck and Nancy Missler*
This will provide you with a road map to understanding God's true and divine love and the life-changing power that is found within it.  You will receive deeper insights into God's character and His greatlove for you.  You will also begin to understand your own natural reactions a little more clearly, and at the same time, learn an alternative way of dealing with them.
Thursdays, 9:30-11:30am in Scripps Ranch
