Ministry Vision and Core Values

Our core values

We minister to kids.
Our primary goal is to reach the children. We want to know what our kids are like, and plan activities that are age-appropriate and engaging. We look at everything-classroom décor, lessons, crafts, games and music-through a child's eyes, so that we create a ministry that reaches, teaches, and loves children.

The Bible is for now.
We want children to discover the Bible is relevant and can help them in their daily lives. We want them to know that God's Word talks about their life issues. We want all the kids to ask, "How does this truth help me?"

We teach the Bible creatively.
We want children to be so fascinated with Bible stories that they're eager to learn more. We present timeless, eternal truth in ways that engage children: video clips, creative storytelling, drama sketches, and other teaching methods. We use variety to keep from being predictable (and boring).

Safety is important.
We take the attitude of a shepherd watching over a valuable but vulnerable flock. All rooms and equipment and toys must be safe and age-appropriate. All activities must be monitored by the adults present to prevent possible injury. All volunteers must be and are thoroughly screened. We use a tag system to insure the proper parent picks up their children.

We want to have fun.
We want children to come back week after week so that we can continue to nourish and nurture their faith. Children and volunteers like to have fun, so we insist on having some every time we get together with the children.

Here are the spiritual principles that we believe help kids in our church grow:

1. Planting seeds (Mark 4:14)- "The farmer sows the seed which is the Word of God."  Seeds of God's Word, His love and the truth are planted in children's lives through teaching, example and learning to have a relationship with the Lord.

2. Growing fruit (John 15:16)- "You should go and bring forth fruit and your fruit should remain."  The proof is in the fruit.  Our experience is that children who are in regular fellowship, learning God's Word in a loving environment, tend to reflect what they've learned in their actions, how they interact with others and what they do with their time.

3. Knowing the Word (2 Peter 3:18)- "Grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord."  We believe that to know God is to know His grace - and that is something we emphasize strongly, so that our kids will experience grace and learn to exten d grace, mercy and compassion to others.

4. 'Rockin' in the world, surviving the storms (Matthew 7:24)- "A wise man built his house upon a rock, and the storms beat upon that house but it did not fall."  Unfortunately, no one grows up in this world without experiencing some hard times.  We want to prepare our kids to deal with those times by building a strong spiritual foundation in their lives, and giving them Scripture-based tools to help them.
