• Set free by the truth of the Word of God and equipped by the Scriptures for fruitful service unto the Lord.
• Develop the humble heart of a servant and allow the grtace of God to shape and strengthen their lives.
• Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
HISTORY
Maranatha Bible College was founded in 2010 as part of the overall vision and mission of Maranatha Chapel to love God, people, and to make disciples. The education program of MBC is modeled on the degree program offered by Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC). CCBC was founded in 1975 as a short intensive study program. Today CCBC is a non-accredited, independent, religious-exempt institution that offers degrees in Biblical Studies and Theology at its main campus in Murrieta, California and at Affiliate Campuses throughout the world. MBC intends to partner with Calvary Chapel Bible College as an Affiliate School.
STUDY PROGRAMS
MBC offers two study programs: The Bachelor of Biblical Studies, and the Associate in Theology.
BACHELOR OF BIBLICAL STUDIES
The Bachelor of Biblical Studies is an 80-unit program for students who have completed at least two years of college general education. The BBS consists of 60 semester credits of general education from an approved/accredited school, combined with 80 semester credits earned at MBC or another CCBC campus. Students must take all of the required courses and pass them with a grade of "C-" or better.
ASSOCIATE IN THEOLOGY
The Associate in Theology is also an 80-unit program. It is for students who have successfully completed high school or its equivalent, but do not have the minimum transferable credits required for the Bachelor Degree program. Students must take all of the required courses and pass them with a "C-" or better.
AUDITING OPTION
This option is designed for the student who desires to study for personal enrichment only. A 70% attendance must be maintained. No homework or test is required.
While academic degrees are not the main goal of our program, opportunities are available for students who are called to pursue education beyond MBC. Although the degrees we offer are not accredited by a government-recognized agency, many accredited colleges have accepted in transfer similar courses offered by CCBC and the Bachelor's degree awarded by CCBC has been accepted by some of the finest seminaries in the nation. Specific questions about transferability of credits from MBC should be directed to the registrar's office of the specific institution you are considering.
ACADEMICS
Our hope is that every student who attends MBC will know Jesus better at the end of each class than they did at the beginning. In this light, MBC degree requirements are designed to prepare a student for ministry, rather than academic prowess. Students will, however, be challenged both spiritually as well as academically in every class. As we study God's Word, we look for Him to speak to us and fill our lives with His Spirit, making us more like Christ and
equipping us to serve Him.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Students are required to register in person during the scheduled registration days prior to each semester. All fees for the semester are due at the time of registration.
TUITION AND FEES
For the credit programs (the Bachelor of Biblical Studies or Associate in Theology), tuition is $75 per credit. For the audit option, tuition is $30 per credit. Each student in the credit program is also required to pay a $50 non-refundable registration fee each semester. New students are required to pay a $25 non-refundable fee at the time they submit their Application for Admission. Books are not included in tuition costs.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Through the courses of study, Maranatha Bible College students will have studied the entire Bible verse-by-verse with Chuck Smith (utilizing recorded messages), as well as have studied in-depth core books of the Bible. To supplement the core classes, students have a variety of electives to choose from in several relevant subject areas: Apologetics, Language, History, and Theology.
