  • Training.

We have a mandatory training meeting for all volunteers on July 14th from 12:30-2pm in the Fellowship Hall.

We have a morning stand up meeting each day of VBS in the Fellowship Hall from 8:15-8:30 (Don’t be late!)

We have daily announcements in the Sanctuary from 12:10-12:15 (Don’t leave early)

Training for VBS is very job specific. Everyone will receive a general training at the mandatory meeting.

For all teachers, coordinators, rotation leaders, and other key roles Pastor Jonathan will be in contact with you directly.

  • Impact.

It is reported that over 2.5 million kids attend VBS each year. Of those over 70,000 make a commitment to Christ for the first time.

At Maranatha we host over 600 kids each summer. Most of them make a commitment to Christ or rededicate their lives to Him.

“VBS is more than just a week of fun. For many churches, it is the SINGLE MOST EVANGELISTIC OUTREACH EVENT OF THE YEAR. VBS opens the doors of your church to the community and reaches children and their families like nothing else. It connects the people of your church to your neighbors, and it deepens your connection to the kids and families who attend your church regularly.

It’s all about sharing the gospel and allowing the Holy Spirit to do His work. This is why we do VBS. This is what makes the long days and the late nights worthwhile. VBS is worth the time, the effort, and the investment. It’s worth it when relationships are developed, conversations about Jesus are had, seeds are planted, and hearts are transformed for eternity!” - Lifeway
